Types of Cricket Bats

Its earliest use goes back to 1624, but in 1979, a regulation modification mandated that bats be manufactured entirely of wood. Now, every bat has a large handle linked to the bat’s face and is used to strike the ball. There are two types of willows:

  1. English Willow
  2. Kashmir Willow

  • Covering The Blade – To protect, strengthen, or repair the blade, it may be covered with material. Such material should not be thicker than 1/16 inch/1.56 mm and shall not be liable to cause unacceptable damage to the ball.

Kashmir willow is more brownish and is traditionally hand-made which makes it a little bit more costly. The Kashmir willow is also known to have a lighter weight than other types of bat willows.
